What is Submission

Submitting to God sounds about as appealing as walking through a brush fire. Yet, it is one of the most common admonitions in the Bible. Can it be that we have not really understood what it means to submit. Does it mean being passive and letting God and the world walk all over us?

Larry Kreider says this in New Man Magazine:

When Jesus said, “ ‘ … I must be about my Father’s business,’” He knew what His Father’s business was, and proceeded in a resolute and focused manner (Luke 2:49, KJV). There was no sense of resignation or passivity in Jesus. Whatever yieldedness looks like, it is not some stereotype of a Christian who wanders aimlessly like a directionless, lazy vagabond.
